DECOLONiZE THE DANCE FLOOR

Decolonize the dance floor is a dance conference by Habibitch, used as a tool to question the systems that shape our social relationships. Habibitch is a French Algerian dancer and choreographer, a queer feminist and activist. Habibitch uses dance, and her body as a medium. Through their practice of whacking, voguing and debates, they denounces with one goal : decolonize the dancefloor.

Racism, privileges, domination, resistance, creation : all these fundamentals concepts are observed through a sharp magnifying glass, with literal movement giving a rhythm to the speech. Decolonize the dance floor is a performance just like Habibitch is : personified, complex, funny, punchy, resilient, committed and political.
