About the event

Inviting all bodies to the beach for an exploration of natural elements and queerness through movement and textiles. What does it mean to be water? What does it mean to be wind? Come be a part of a large sculptural installation, come be a piece of art!

Marissa Aurora (they/them) is a multimedia artist from Los Cerrillos, New Mexico. Their work, which spans many mediums, from film and textiles to sculpture and performance, strives to be a source of play and introspection for both the artist and the audience.

Their most recent work examines our interaction with natural elements, particularly wind and water, and examines queerness as a means of navigating the world, akin to ancient seafarers finding their way by the stars.
