About the event
Born in New York City at the end of the 1960’s, the ballroom
scene gave birth to voguing. But it also represents a far more
complex, rich and political counter-culture, specifically created
by the LGBTQ+ black and latinx community as an answer to
systemic racism.
Today, ballroom culture has gone viral in the entire world, fulled
with the desire to remain an artistic and political space,
specifically dedicated to the extravagance of the LGTBQ+
people of color.
Habibitch is a French Algerian dancer and choreographer, a queer feminist
and activist. Habibitch uses dance, and her body as a medium.
