Lesvos LGBTQI+ Refugee Solidarity Group
We are Lesvos LGBTQI+ Refugee Solidarity group. Our members identify as LGBTIQ+ and are living in Lesvos as refugees, volunteers and locals. We act as a solidarity and support group, meeting every week to talk, organise and share useful information specific to LGBTIQ+ refugees.

About the event
We have been active as a grass-roots collective since July 2017. We came into existence organically, as members of the LGBTQI+ refugee community began to identify members of the non-refugee LGBTQI+ community as trusted points of contact and support, in the abject absence of any actor on the island providing specific information or support to the LGBTQI+ refugee community.
We aim to :
♡ Build community by providing a safer space for LGBTIQ+ refugees in Lesvos, where everyone is free to express their sexuality and/or gender identity in an environment of mutual support and respect, without fear of judgment or harm.
♡ Collectively demand changes to the situation for LGBTIQ+ refugees trapped on Lesvos.
We are settled in Mytilini, Lesbos, where Fortress Europe has created camps to contain people on the move. We go through dehumanised processes and everyday can be a struggle. However, we are people, cute people. We want to take part to Queer Ranch Festival to celebrate our existences and the plurality of our identities.
Theater play!
We are happy to give you a glimpse of our stories through a theater play we created specifically for the Queer Ranch Festival. We want to share our journeys, their diversities, and remind ourselves of the systemic aspects of the violences we have to go through.
