About the event
By Mari from Lesbian* Resistance
Mari is a queer feminist activist, human rights lawyer and gender researcher, who has been involved in different queer feminist initiatives in Georgia, regionally and internationally around 12 years. They are a co-founder of the first ever massive queer techno nights series in Georgia @Horrom Nights. In this workshop, Mari will share experiences from Georgia and speak about the struggles queer feminist community faces in the the South Caucasus region. What does it mean, as a country, to be marked as “constantly in transition” in “between the West and East”. How do “Pro Western” discources and EU integration narratives dictate and define queer realities on the ground.

As a community how can we rethink and reshape the resistance? How can we practice solidarity and collective care in a neo liberal capitalism where queer people are constantly pushed towards the margins.
